Re: Project 4: Student Research Presentation
I did my research project on Ken Goldgberg. He incorporates new technology into all of his work, using computers to maintain gardens, measure fault lines, and construct microscopic architectural models. He is an intriguing artist because although he uses cutting edge technology, he is not afraid to comment on its implications on society. He is currently a professor at UC Berkeley, has been awarded various grants, and has even patented a number of new inventions.

David Rokeby
For my project, I decided to research David Rokeby. Many of Rokeby’s project address the techniques, such as layering, hue/saturation, and sharpen/bur, that we have been learning about in class. With this is mind, I decided to organize my power point into sections that related Rokeby‘s projects to the techniques we learned about in class. I started with layering because a lot of his projects were related to the layering effect.

Holography
My project focused on the art of holography, or integration of hologram technology into fine art. It describes the very basics of how holograms work, invention of, what they're used for, both in modern day and possibilities of future use, and then delves into three artists (Ed Ruscha, James Turrell, and Chuck Close) and their work with holograms.
