Kinetic Facade of the MegaFaces Pavilion is a physical cross platform project that combines digital, sculptural, and architectural in the form of a giant kinetic pin board that’s connected to 3D scanning and photo printing. It uses robotic actuators that receives information from a 3D scanning booth and projects the facade of faces in a large 18x18m space. I chose this project because of the liking to these toy pin boards as a child and remember putting my own face and hands/feet in these boards. This took an idea that is well known and grew it into the large scale in an innovative way using art and technology. This project embodies the interactivity of the toy pin board and shows us how we have technologically advanced. ”
