Drum sounds (and other multi-sample instruments) are undefined, but can be specified by standards like General MIDI (GM)

0 is equivalent to note off

But 120-127 are "reserved"

For things like all sound off, reset controllers, set local mode, etc.

But they can actually be used freely if you know how both ends react.
