The goal of the final project is to develop skills in conceptualization and articulation and to review the course material. You are asked to come up with an innovative concept proposal that intersects Artificial Intelligence and the photographic image. The proposal will not be realized within the course schedule given our limited time frame but may be inspirational for your future work.

The project proposal can be a research project, an artistic work, or else an engineering problem to solve. The expectation is that certain topics covered may have triggered inspiration for you to be realized through a future project. Additionally, many artists and researcher have innovative ideas but fail to successfully communicate them for reviewing agencies such as grant juries, exhibition proposals, curatorial review, research labs, etc.. The goal of the assignment is to therefore address the two things:

a) CONCEPT: Come up with an innovative project concept based on AI integration and the photographic image through intersections with other disciplines such as Information Theory, neuroscience and perception, analog and digital materiality, generative art, data, image processing, resources through photographic history, designing new image machines, the electromagnetic spectrum, research in aesthetics, etc.

b) COMMUNICATION: Developing skills in how to write your innovative project.
